Why Excellence Can't Be Copy-Pasted

And why your lizard brain loves step-by-step formulas—even when they lead to outcomes you don't want

Most people never land on excellence because they never trust themselves.
They also never recognize the role of good fortune in the people they look up to.

You can “copy and paste” your way to moderate success.
But I’m convinced exceptional success is always custom-tailored to you.

Many people sell specific directions in business:

  • build to sell

  • scale big

  • invest in real estate

  • make data-driven decisions

  • sales first

These are all great ideas.
The only ones you’re going to stick with are the ones that fit you.

Further…

You can engineer your way to success (and I believe you should). But you can’t escape the fact that some of the most successful people you know put in an incredible amount of work (either physical or mental), AND they had good fortune along the way.

But selling blueprints, frameworks, checklists, and step-by-step instructions are much more compelling to our lizard brain…even if we don’t actually want the outcome that it brings.
